Parents/guardians of any student residing within the CVUSD attendance boundary may apply to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their residence school through the district’s Intradistrict Open Enrollment process. Open Enrollment transfer applications for the 2026–2027 school year will be available online from November 3, 2025 (7:30 a.m.) through December 5, 2025 (4:30 p.m.). Our school will be closed on Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day. We will resume school on Wednesday, November 12. Thank you to all who have served our country.

Parents and Guardians, You are invited to join us for our Trimester 1 Awards Assemblies on Thursday, November 13, Friday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 18. We will be honoring our students for their excellence in attendance, citizenship and academics. The assemblies will be held in the MPR and we encourage parents to come into the school office and pre-check in to expediate admittance the day of the assembly. The two classes with the highest attendance for the month of October were Mrs. Hirtzel (3rd grade) and Ms. Vande Steeg (5th grade). These students will enjoy ice cream treats courtesy of PFA along with having the Iron Man trophy in their classrooms. We appreciate your efforts to make school attendance a top priority.

Howard Cattle Students and Staff cordially invite our local veterans to our annual Veteran's Day Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 8:30 AM. If you or your family member is a veteran, we would like to honor your service to our country at our upcoming assembly. RSVP forms were sent home last week and are due this Thursday, November 6. at 4:00 PM. (Additional forms are available in the school office.) Thank you to those who have served our country. We are grateful and proud to honor you.

Howard Cattle has partnered with Big Smiles to offer dental care at our school on Thursday, December 4, 2025. If your child is insured with Medicaid/CHIP, there is NO COST TO YOU! (Private insurance and affordable self-pay options are also available.) Top quality care will be provided by local, licensed dentists in the familiar surroundings of our school. Dental care includes A COMPLETE EXAM, X-RAYS, CLEANING, FLUORIDE, AND SEALANTS when necessary, and in some cases, filings. Permission slips went home or are available in the school office. Join us for the November All Pro Dads Meeting on Friday, November 14 at **2:40 - 3:10 PM. All Pro Dads is a way for dads and their children to connect and have conversations on topics such as Respect, Caring, and Kindness. Our Howard Cattle Chapter is led by a parent of a current Cattle student. Come and enjoy light refreshments and get to know other dads and their children. Meeting will be held in the STEM Lab.
